2. Installation

Complying with NEBS

The following must be taken into consideration for compliance with Network

Equipment-Building System (NEBS) requirements.

Connection to the CO Ground Lug

Connection to the CO Ground Lug Procedure

To connect to the CO ground lug:

1.Strip back the insulation approximately 1/4- to 3/8-inch (6.5 to 9.5 mm) on the 14 AWG copper ground wire.

2.Loosen the screw on the GND lug located on the rear surface at the center of the bottom edge.

3.Insert the stripped end of the wire into the open end of the GND lug and tighten the lug’s screw. Make sure it makes contact with the stripped portion of the wire.

ESD Wrist Strap Jack

A noninsulated banana jack is located at the left front of the Hotwire 8620

GranDSLAM to provide a ground for an ESD wrist strap.
