When you use the Remote Locator feature, your VCR can find your remote control. To find your remote, follow these steps.

Press the POWER button on the VCR to turn on the VCR. LOCATING REMOTE appears on the TV screen briefly. Within a few seconds, the remote control will start beeping. It will beep for about 30 seconds.

When you find the remote control, point the remote at the
VCR’s remote sensor and press any button on the remote control to stop the beeping.
The VCR may find other remote controls in your home, or even in an apartment complex. To program the VCR to find its remote control only, follow these steps.

Press the VCR button, then press the MENU button.

Press the Number 6 button to select SET REMOTE LOCA- TOR.
TO CHANGE CODE,
PUSH MUTE AND PAUSE KEY
FOR 3 SECONDS.
TO END PUSH EXIT

Press and hold the MUTE button and the PAUSE/STILL button at the same time for three seconds. The current remote locator code will appear

TO SELECT PUSH

Press one Number button (0 - 9) on the remote control to set a new locator code. (If you press any other button, the code won’t be set.) The remote control will beep briefly, indicat- ing that the locator code has been changed successfully. The new code will appear in the menu, then the menu will disappear.

Helpful Hints
•The VCR may not find the remote control if the remote is placed on a metal shelf or on counter material.
•Any changes or modifications to the remote control not expressly approved by Philips Consumer Electronics Company could void the user’s authority to operate the remote control.
•If you change the remote locator code in the steps above, you must reprogram the remote control when you replace the batteries.
