10.1Play or record to USB mass storage device

You can playback music from a USB device on or .You can also transfer the music library of to a USB mass storage device, so that you can carry your favorite music with you wherever

you go.

10.1.1 About USB device

Note

•In some USB flash (or memory) devices, the stored contents is recorded using copyright protection technology. Such protected contents cannot be played on any other devices (such as / ).

•MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) USB devices are not supported.

•Protected (DRM) WMA files cannot be played due to copyright issues.

Compatible USB mass storage devices:

The following devices can be used on or :

•USB flash devices (USB 2.0 or USB1.1)

•USB flash memory devices (USB 2.0 or USB1.1)

Supported formats:

•USB or memory file format FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 (sector size: 512 - 65,536 bytes)

•MP3 bit rate (data rate): 32-320 Kbps and variable bit rate

•WMA v9 or earlier versions

•Directory nesting up to a maximum of 8 levels

•Number of albums/folders: maximum 99

•Number of tracks/titles: maximum 999

•File name in Unicode UTF8 (maximum length: 256 bytes)

•MP3 VBR,WMA VBR,AAC VBR format

or will not play or support the following:

•Empty albums that do not contain any MP3/WMA files and hence will not be displayed.

•Unsupported formats are skipped (e.g. files with .doc extension are ignored).

•WAV, PCM audio files

•DRM protected WMA files

•WMA files in Lossless

How to transfer music files from your PC to a USB mass storage device

You can easily transfer your favorite music from your PC to a USB mass storage device by drag & drop.
