Basic Navigation

The most frequently used function is the Address Search, in which the address is specified and the destination searched. This section describes how to use the Address Search and the basics of using the Navigation System. Also, the method of playing CDs is used as an example of switching to the audio source.

For safety reasons, you cannot use these basic navigation functions while your vehicle is in motion. To enable these func- tions, you must stop in a safe place and apply the parking brake (see page 12 Inter- lock for details).

Basic flow of operation

1 Park your vehicle in a safe place, and apply the parking brake.

2 Insert the Pioneer DVD Map Disc to the DVD-ROM loading slot.

3 Press the DEST button to display the Main menu.

4 Select the method of searching for your destination.

5 Enter the information about your des- tination.

6 Your Navigation System sets the route to your destination, and the map of your surroundings appears.

7 After releasing the parking brake, drive in accordance with the naviga- tion information, subject of course to the important safety instructions noted on page 11-13.
