These are the basic steps necessary to play a
CD with your built-in CD player.More ad-
vanced CD operation is explained starting on
the next page.
1Play time indicator
Shows the elapsed playing time of the cur-
rent track.
2Tracknumber indicator
Shows the track currently playing.
1 PressOPEN to open the front panel.
CD loading slot appears.
#After a CD has been inserted, press SOURCE
toselect the built-inCD player.
2 Inserta CD into the CD loading slot.
Playback will automatically start.
CDloading slot
EJECTbutton
#Youcan eject a CD by pressing EJECT.
#Toavoid a malfunction, make sure that no
metalobject comes into contact withthe term-
inalswhen the front panel is open.
3 Closethe front panel.
4 UseVOLUME to adjust the sound level.
Rotate to increase or decrease the volume.
5 Toperform fast forward or reverse,
press and hold cor d.
#If you select the search method to ROUGH,
pressingand holding cor denables youto
searchever y ten track in the current disc. (Refer
toSelecting the search method on page 17.)
6 Toskip back or forward to another
track, press cor d.
Pressingdskips to the start of the next track.
Pressingconce skips to the start of the cur-
rent track. Pressing again will skip to the pre-
vious track.
Notes
!Thebuilt-in CD player plays one, standard, 12-
cmor 8-cm(single) CDat atime. Donot use
anadapter when playing 8-cm CDs.
!Donot insert anything other than a CD into
theCD loading slot.
!If you cannot insert a disc completely or if
after you insert a disc the disc does not play,
checkthat the label side of the disc is up.
PressEJECT to eject the disc, and check the
discfor damagebefore inserting thedisc
again.
!aandbcan be operated when MP3, WMA or
WAVis playing.
!If the built-in CD player does not operate prop-
erly,an error message such as ERROR-11
maybe displayed.Refer to Understanding
built-inCD player error messages on page 45.
!Whena CDTEXT disc is inserted, the disc and
tracktitles begin toscroll to the left auto-
matically.
