03Connecting USB storage devices

Caution

Be sure to turn this unit’s power off (to the standby mode) before connecting or disconnecting USB storage devices.

When using an external HDD (hard disk drive) as the external storage device, be sure to turn on the HDD’s power before turning on this unit’s power.

If the USB storage device is write-protected, be sure to disable the write-protection.

When connecting the USB cable, hold onto the plug, set the plug in the proper direction for the port, then insert it horizontally.

Placing excessive loads on the plug may result in faulty contact, making it impossible to read the data on the USB storage device.

Do not unplug the power cord when a USB storage device is connected and this unit’s power is turned on.
