Troubleshooting with Driver Logs
When the logging is enabled, the driver version in the /proc/scsi/qla2xxx/<adapter number> is appended with a
#cat /proc/scsi/qla2xxx/5

NOTE:
Although the driver logs provide debugging and error information, they also increase I/O latency. Therefore, QLogic does not recommend that you enable extended logging during normal operations.
Troubleshooting with Driver Logs
All messages from the QLogic Fibre Channel Adapter driver are logged in /var/log/vmkernel. These messages provide additional information about the driver operation: both normal and driver warnings. Messages from the driver are usually preceded by scsi(%d), where %d is the adapter instance number.
The following example shows a snippet from a vmkernel file:
