Checks and Adjustments

 

 

Viewfinder Displays are

• Try adjusting the eyepiece focus control. Details are

out of Focus

on page 18.

 

 

Poor Picture Quality

• There is insufficient light. Add more light.

During Recording

• Place the CAMERA/VCR switch in CAMERA AUTO,

 

or repeatedly press SHUTTER to set the shutter speed

 

to normal (1/60 second). Details are on page 28.

 

• Place the FOCUS AUTO/MAN switch in AUTO

 

position to have the camcorder focus automatically.

 

Details are on pages 26-27.

 

 

Poor Auto-Focus

• Place the FOCUS AUTO/MAN switch in the AUTO

position for the camcorder to control the focus

 

automatically. Details are on pages 26-27.

 

• Subject may be too dark. Auto-focus system may not

 

work under this condition. Place FOCUS

 

AUTO/MAN switch in MAN position and focus

 

manually. Details are on pages 26-27.

 

• Lens may be smudged and image appears unfocused.

 

• Viewfinder eyepiece focus control may be adjusted

 

incorrectly. Details are on page 18.

 

 

Poor Picture Quality

• Tape was recorded on a different camcorder or VCR.

During Playback

If the picture contains black-and-white streaks, press

 

one of the tracking (CLOCK SELECT and SET)

 

buttons to correct. Details on page 41.

 

• Camcorder only has one speed (SP). If tape was

 

recorded at different speed, it cannot be played back

 

in this camcorder.

 

 

Picture Too Dark

• Repeatedly press SHUTTER to set shutter speed to

 

normal (1/60 second) or place CAMERA/VCR switch

 

in CAMERA AUTO. Details are on pages 24 and 28.

 

 

DEW Indicator Flashing

• If the DEW indicator is flashing in the viewfinder,

in Viewfinder

there is moisture in the camcorder. Remove cassette

 

and let camcorder dry out for at least two hours.

 

When the DEW indicator stops flashing, camcorder

 

will operate.
