MODES
TheSuperView provides two display modes—two different waysto apply host
computergraphics and window inputs to the screen. The two display modes are
Autosyncand Free Run.
AUTOSYNC
.
............
MODE
Autosynccombines the background computer graphics and any enabled
windows.Autosync mode has two different states. If the background signal is
connectedand visible, this i s referredto as backgroundAutosync mode. If the
signalis connected but turned off, then this is referred to as genlock Autosync
mode;the output characteristics of the signal are provided even though the
signalis not visible. Note that the Autosync mode is only available if your
systemhas the optional BACKGROUND INPUT connector.
Withthe background Autosync mode, the individual input windows can be
displayedin two ways—inserted on top of the computer graphics background,
orselectively d isplayedreplacing certain areas of the computer graphics where
key color criteria are met (Chroma Key option).
Innormal Autosync mode, window inputs have priority over the background
computergraphics. The windows are “inserted” on top of the computer graphics
background. Wherever a visibility rectangle indicates the presence of input
windowimagery, the imagery is displayed at the corresponding display’s
position. Any background computer imagery at those pixel positions is not
visible.Even the computer mouse po inter is hidden if its position coincides with
aninput window.
Autosyncmode is an optional mode that is available only if you have the
BACKGROUNDINPUT connector. Autosync mode requires a host computer
inputand at least one window input. A SuperView inAutosync mode must have
ahost computer connected to the BACKGROUND INPUT to generate an output.
CHROMA KEY OPTION
In this Autosync display option, windows selectively replace the background
computergraphics, based on the color of the graphics. That is, if the SuperView
detectsthe background contains a color within a user-specified chroma key
“acceptancerange” and, at that same p osition, there exists any portion of an
activeinput window, then the input window replaces the background computer
graphicsat the corresponding display position. This is the same technique used
