ROUBLESHOOTING

Problemswith the SuperView’soperation may result from inappropriate system
connectionsand settings. In the event of d ifficultyor anomalous results, first
checkcable connections, the video format associated with each input,the
monitortiming selected, and any system options currently in effect. Some of
theseare discussed in Table 6. Please note that the SuperView’s hardware
shouldonly be modified or repaired by RGB Spectrum’s technicians.

Symptom Recommendations
NoPower or Lights Checkthat the Su perViewis plugg ed in and powered on. Check the fuse
locatedin the li ne filter.Rem ove the fuse cover from the power connector
panel.The unit is sup plied with two fuses; the second one is a spare. If the
primaryfuse appears blown, replace it with the spare.
NoSignal/Poor Signal on
Monitorfor Compute rI nput Verifydisplay mode (HOST FREE or HOST AUTO).
Free-runmode: Make surea suitable host is loaded from the Host List.
Autosyncmode: Checkcable connections from t he host computer to the
SuperView’sBACKGROUND INPUT, and from the SuperView’s ANALOG
OUTPUTto the monitor. Ensurethat the same number of coaxial cables are
attachedon both the i nput and the output side of the SuperView.
NoWindows Ensurethat at least one windowis enabled. Ensure that the chroma key is
correctlyconfigured. (Ifthe ChromaKey is enabled, switchit off. If the
windowappears in the key col or area, you have a ChromaKeyColor setting
whichis inconsistent wit h your reserved color.)
BackgroundC omputer
GraphicsRolls Vertically Checkcables c onnections from the host computer to the SuperView and
fromthe SuperView to the display devic e. Check if the problem persists
whenthe monitor is co nnected directly to the host computer’s output.
Windowshave wrong aspect
ratio(i.e., are str etched) or are
notpositioned correct ly
Usethe HostInteractive command to adjust timing parametervalues.
Verifythat the window source rectangle (WSR) and w indow destination
rectangle( WDR) have the same aspect ratio (for serial control) or that
AspectRatioTrimis set to1000 (for front panel control).
BlankVideo Window
(windowis bla ck) Ensurethat th e window’s video source is properly conne cted to the system,
poweredon and generatinga signal. Ensurethat the correcttype is selected
(Composite,Compon ent, or S-Video) with the INputTYPE command.
FrozenWindow(s) Ifa window is frozen after system start-up, turn free ze off. Usethe FreeZe
OFFcommand.
MissingWindow Imagery ChecktheWSR valueto ensure the entire image is being processed. Check
WSRand WDR to ensure the source anddestination rectangles are
deliveringthe entire video image.Verify that ChromaKeyis off.
Fromthe front panel, usethe size, priority, zoom and position controls to
ensurethe entire ima ge is properly sized and positioned on the screen.
