Shooting with Creatve Effect (X)

In X(creative shooting) mode, the camera adds various effects to the photo. You can choose from the following seven effect types.

Creative Shooting Mode Options

Create images with natural contrast, reducing loss of detail in

shadows and highlights. For detailed operations, see P.57.

Dynamic

Range

Choose for soft focus effects similar to those created by soft focus

lenses. The amount of softening can be selected using the [Soft

Soft Focus

Focus Options] item in the shooting menu (GP.67).

Use to create pictures that appear to be photos of dioramas. For

detailed operations, see P.58.

Miniaturize

Take photographs with the high contrast, saturated colors,

distortion, and vignetting associated with toy cameras. Use the

Toy Camera

[Vignetting] option in the shooting menu (GP.67) to choose the

amount of vignetting, the [Toy Color] option (GP.67) to choose

the amount of saturation.

Use to create pictures that have increased contrast and reduced

saturation. Colors can be set to be either warm or cold colors using

Bleach Bypass

the [Hue] option in the shooting menu (P. 67).

Take photographs with colors that differ markedly from those of the

actual subject. The colors can be selected using the [Hue] option in

Cross Process

the shooting menu (GP.67).

Use to create black-and-white images with higher contrast than

those normally produced using black and white (GP.69).

High Contrast

Produces grainy images similar to those taken with highly sensitive

B&W

film or high gain film processing.
