3.10 Clearing theBridge’sConfiguration
Youmaywant toclearthe bridge’s currentsetup:itsIPconfiguration and mapping
tables.Forexample,ifyou intend toreinstall the bridge intoadifferentapplication
you maywishto assign a newconfiguration tothe bridge forthatapplication.
Youwill be using the CFGUTIL utilitytoclearthe bridge’s configuration.Here are
the steps.
Setup
If akeyboard and monitorare already connected tothe bridge,stop the bridge by
pressing Qand confirming thatyou want to quit the bridge application.
If akeyboard and monitorare notconnected,remove powertothe bridge and
connect themtothe bridge’sconnectorpanel.Restore powertothe bridge. If the
bridgedoesnotdisplayitsCFGUTILmenu,stop the bridge application bypressing
Qand confirming thatyou want to quit the bridge application.
Clearing theConfiguration
At the C:\ prompt, enter:CFGUTILtostart the configuration utility.
TheCFGUTILmenu should nowbe displayed.An exampleis showninFigure 14.
Yourmenushould display yourcurrentconfiguration forthe bridge.
Edit the CFGUTILmenu fieldsasfollows:
HIP Address:Enterbootpintothisfield.
HNetMask:Clearthisfield.
HNameServer:Clearthisfield.
HGateway:Clearthisfield.
HDomain:Clearthisfield.
When you finish editing the fields,press Escape.Youwill be prompted:
Write files to disk?
EnterYtosavethe configuration.Thiswill returnyou tothe C:\ prompt.
Deletethe fileC:\RTE.CFG.
The bridge will nowbe cleared toitsoriginalconfiguration.
