4.2.2Setting UpaCustomBridgeConfiguration
The generalprocedureyou shouldfollowforinstalling the bridge softwarein a
customconfiguration is:
HIf yourModbusPlusnetworkapplication is currentlyactive,ensurethatitwill
notbe disrupted bythe addition of the newbridge node.
HInstall yourModicon SA85 ModbusPlus card using the guidebook supplied
withthe card.See section 2.2inthisbridge manualforinformation about
setting up the card’sModbusPlusnode address.
HInstall yourEthernetcard using the guidebookforthatcard.
HConnect the Ethernetand ModbusPlusnetwork cablestoyourcards.
HInstall yourEthernetpacketdriveraccording tothe instructions supplied with
thatprogram.
HCopythe Bridge Software(31000020)disk filestothe rootdirectoryofyour
bridge PC,except forAUTOEXEC.BATandCONFIG.SYS.(You will be
using yourexisting AUTOEXEC.BATandCONFIG.SYS files.)
HNotethatyour rootdirectorynowcontainsaGATELOOP.BATfile.Thisis
the filewhichwill start the bridge application.
HEdit the GATELOOP.BATfiletoremovethe call tothe bridge’sEthernet
driverPNPPD.COM.(Youwill be using yourown driver.)
