When the rechargeable battery and the al- kaline battery are used at the same time, the rechargeable battery is used first, then the alkaline battery.

Since the battery indicator shows the re- maining amount of the particular battery being used, the number of bars will in- crease when the unit switches to the al- kaline battery.
