Windows XP

Note:

The name of the menu items may differ slightly from one version of Windows XP to another. However, the configuration settings described below apply generally.

ìClick on Start Control Panel.ìClick on Network connections.

ìDouble-click on the LAN connection, via which you are connected to the Gigaset WLAN Repeater 108.

ìOn the General tab, click on Properties.

ìFrom the list, select the entry Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on Properties.

ìIf the Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address auto- matically options have already been activated, your PC is already configured for DHCP. Click on Cancel and close the following windows with OK to save your net- work configuration.

Otherwise, in the General tab, activate the Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically options.

ìClick on OK or Close to close each window.Deactivating the HTTP proxy

Make sure that the HTTP Proxy in your Web browser is deactivated. This function must be deactivated so that your Web browser can access your Gigaset WLAN Repeater 108's configuration pages.

The following section describes the procedure for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. First decide which browser you are using and then follow the appropriate steps.

uInternet Explorer

ìOpen Internet Explorer and click on End. Click on Tools and then on Internet Options.

ìIn the Internet Options window click on the Connections tab.ìClick on Settings.ìDeactivate all options in the Settings for local network (LAN) window.ìClick on OK and then OK again to close the Internet Options window.
