Entering Numbers, Symbols, Smileys and Preset Messages

Toenternumbers:

▶Select the NUMBER mode and press the appropriate key. (See “Selecting a Character Input Mode”on page 41.)

Toentersymbols:

▶Select the SYMBOLmode. (See “Selecting a Character Input Mode”on page 41.) To enter a symbol, press the appropriate key indicated on the display.

Toenter“emoticons”(smileys):

▶Select the Emoticons mode or SMILEYS mode and press the appropriate key. (See “Selecting a Character Input Mode”on page 41.)

Toenterpresetmessages:

1.Select the PresetMessagesmode. (See “Selecting a Character Input Mode”on page 41.)

2.Scroll to the desired preprogrammed message and press .

Note: Presetmessages make composing textmessages even easier by allowing you to enter presetmessages, such as “Meetme at,”“Let’s get lunch,”or a customized message of your own. (For more information on presetmessages, please see “Managing PresetMessages”on page 62.)
