8.3. Taking out of service, dismantling, disposal

MOnly skilled personnel qualified for this work may dismantle the individual product modules.

Parts that are under mechanical stress should be dissembled with utmost care to avoid the energy trapped in these parts from unleashing and causing injury.

8.3.1. General

To dispose of the products, you should take the following action:

Remove and destroy the nameplate with the CE sign.

Completely disassemble the product and dispose of the various components or recycle them.

8.3.2.Disposal Instructions

All components must be pressureless prior to disassembly.

Oil, grease and other fluids have to be disposed of separately in accordance with local regulations.

Bright steel parts are to be treated as steel scrap.

Depending on local disposal regulations, painted steel parts may have to be shotblasted before they can be disposed of as steel scrap. Shotblast shall be disposed of separately.

Galvanized steel parts must be disposed of separately, according to local regulations.

Stainless steel parts are to be disposed of as stainless steel scrap.

Aluminum parts, such as manhole components, come under aluminum scrap.

Sealing materials have to be separately disposed of.

Electronic components must be disposed of separately, according to local regulations.
