Next, you should check to make sure the peripheral drives and the SAS/SATA drives and backplane have been properly installed and all connections have been made.

Checking the Drives

1.All drives can be accessed from the front of the server. For servicing the CD- ROM, IDE hard drives and floppy drives, you will need to remove the top/left chassis cover. The SAS/SATA disk drives can be installed and removed from the front of the chassis without removing any chassis covers.

2.To install components into the 5.25" drive bays, you must first remove the top/left chassis cover as described in the previous section. Refer to Chapter 6 for details.

3.Refer to Chapter 6 if you need to reinstall a CD-ROM and/or floppy disk drive to the system.
