5-11 Onboard Indicators

LAN1/2 LEDs

The Ethernet ports (located on the I/O backplane) have two LEDs. On each port, one LED indicates activity while the other LED may be green, amber or off to indicate the speed of the con- nection. See the tables on the right for more information.

IPMI Dedicated LAN LEDs

In addition to LAN1/LAN2, a dedicated IPMI LAN port is also provided on the X8SIL/X8SIL-F. The yellow LED indi- cates activity, while the green LED indicates the speed of the connec- tion. See the table at right for more information.

Onboard Power LED

An Onboard Power LED is located at LE4 on the motherboard. When LE4 is on, the AC power cable is connected. Make sure to disconnect the power cable before removing or installing any component. See the table on the right for more details.

IPMI Heartbeat LED

An IPMI Heartbeat LED is located at LE7. When LE7 blinks, IPMI is func- tioning properly. Refer to the table on the right for details.
