Getting Started
This section provides a description of the CTS 710, a list of standard
and optional accessories, and explains how to operate the CTS 710
for the first time.
Product Description
The Tektronix CTS 710 SONET Test Set is a rugged, portable test set
designed for installing and maintaining telecommunications
networks. The CTS 710 is a SONET analyzer that combines bit error
rate test capabilities with overhead testing, payload mapping, and
demapping in one unit. The CTS 710 features the following
capabilities:
HSTS-1, STS-3, OC-1, OC-3, OC-12, DS1, and DS3 transmit and
receive
HOptical interface available at 1310 nm and 1550 nm
HBit Error Rate testing
HBIP error monitoring and analysis
HPayload mapping and demapping
HTributary Add/Drop/Test
HPointer generation, including sequences, and analysis
HAlarm generation and analysis
HDS1/DS3 error monitoring and analysis
HDS1 Demultiplex from direct-input DS3 or a DS3 embedded in a
SONET rate signal
