Getting Started

Using the computer for the first time

5.375 x 8.375 ver 2.4.0

To minimize and maximize the active window:

❖Tap the icon in the top-right corner of the cPad display

screen to maximize the window

❖Tap the icon in the bottom-right corner of the cPad

display screen to minimize the window

To summon a program pull-down menu, tap the icon in the

upper-left corner of the cPad display screen.

To summon the Start menu, tap the icon in the bottom-left

corner of the cPad display screen.

Adjusting pointing device mode settings

To adjust the settings for pointing device mode:

1Click the cPad icon in the system tray.

A pull-down menu appears.

2Select TouchPad Properties.

The Mouse Properties window appears.

The computer is not accessing the hard disk or the external diskette drive. Error-checking Your hard disk seems very slow. Your data files are damaged or corrupted. Some programs run correctly but others do not. A diskette will not go into the external diskette drive. The computer displays the Non-system disk or disk error DVD-ROM or DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive problems You cannot access a disc in the drive. You press the disc eject button, but the drive tray does not slide out. Some discs run correctly, but others do not. WinDVD problems: general issues WinDVD controls are disabled. Playback performance is poor. The Root or Title menu does not open. WinDVD performance decreases after making a system change. Slow playback performance. WinDVD problems: content issues WinDVD will not function properly with debug software installed. Modem problems The modem will not receive or transmit properly. The modem is on, set up properly and still will not transmit or receive data. Develop good computing habits Save your work frequently.
