DTMF Overdial / Conventional Mode Telephone Interconnect

Once the radio has established a connection to the public telephone system, it may be necessary to "over-dial" more digits to access banking services, answering machines, credit card calls or other types of systems that require DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi- Frequency) access digits.

Overdial operation can also be used to initiate a telephone interconnect call via DTMF signaling if a dial tone has already been accessed on the system. This is the method that is used for making a telephone interconnect call while operating in the conventional mode but will also function in trunked mode if a dial tone is directly accessible.

Telephone numbers and other number sequences for overdialing can be stored in the phone list when programming the radio. These numbers are accessed by pressing M, then following the

selection mode rules.
