Problem Suggestion
The battery does not
charge in the handset
or the handset battery
is not charging
.
Make sure the handset is place d in the teleph one base or cha rger correctly. The CHARGE
light on the handset should be o n.
Remove and reinstall the batter y, then charge for up to 16 hours.
If the handset is in the charger or in the telephone base but the CHARGE light on the handset
is not on, refer to The CHARGE lig ht is off in this section.
It may be necessary to purchase a new battery. Please refer to the Battery section (page 51)
of this user’s manual.

Clean the charging contacts on the handset(s) and telephone base each month using a pencil
eraser or a dry non-abras ive fabric.
Make sure the power adapter and telepho ne line cords are plugged in corre ctly and securely.
Unplug the power adapter. Wait for 15 seconds before plugging it back in. Allow up to one
minute for the handset and telep hone base to reset.
There is no dial tone. First, try all the above sugg estions.
Move the handset closer to the tel ephone base. It might be out of range.
The telephone line cord mig ht be malfunctioning. Try installing a new te lephone line cord.
Disconnect the telephone base from the telephone wall jack and connect a different telephone.
If there is no dial to ne on this telephone eithe r, the problem is in your wiring or local service.
