This function is available when the surround mode or extended stereo mode is on. If you do not operate this function within 30 seconds after entering area setting mode, the setting automatically exits area setting mode.

You can check the virtual surround effect using test tones produced from the speakers.

■Setting compressed music enhancer
This function enhances your listening experience by regenerating the missing harmonics in a compression artifact. This is useful when you play back compressed music data stored on an iPod or a digital music player.

Press ENHANCER.
The ENHANCER indicator lights up in the front panel display when this function is turned on.
Each time you press ENHANCER, the function is turned on and off alternately. The selected mode is stored in memory even when the system is in the standby mode.
