FEATURES
Allmodels are available with a wide variety of factory-
mountedoptions such as stainless steel heat exchangers,
phasemonitor, dirty filter switch, and coil guard to makethem
suitablefor almost every application.
Allunits are self-contained and assembled on full perimeter
base rails with holes in the four corners for overh ead rigging.
Everyunit is completely piped, wired, charged and tested at
thefactory to simplify the field installation and to provide
yearsof dependable operation.
Allmodels (including those with an economizer) are suitable
foreither bottom or horizontal duct connections. Modelswith
factoryinstalled power exhaust are suitable for bottom
ductconnections only. For bottom duct, you remove the
sheetmetal panels from the supply and return air openings
throughthe base of the unit. For horizontal duct, you replace
thesupply and return air panels on the rear of the unit with a
sideduct flange accessory.
Allmodels are available with these “factory mounted” outdoor
airdamper options:
Singleenthalpy economizer
Singleenthalpy economizer with power exhaust
Motorizedoutdoor air damper
Afixed outdoor air intake assembly will be shipped in the
returnair compartment of all units ordered without an econo-
mizeror motorized outdoor air damper option. The assembly
includesa rain hood with a damper that can be set for 10, 15
or25% outdoor air. With bottom duct connections, the intake
damperassembly should be mounted over the openingin the
returnair panel. With horizontal ductwork, it should be
mountedonthereturnairduct.
Allsupply air blowers are equipped with a belt drive that can
beadjusted to meet the exact requirements of the job. A high
staticdrive option is available for applications with a higher
CFMand/or static pressure requirement.
Allcompressors include scroll compressors and internal pres-
surerelief. Every refrigerant circuit includes an expansion
valve,a liquid line filter-drier, a discharge line high pressure
switch and a suction line with a freezestat and low pre ssure/
lossof charge switch to protect all system components.
Simplicity™Controls - Simplicity™ control boards
havestandardized a number of features previously avail-
ableonly as options or by utilizing additional controls.
LowAmbient - An i ntegrated low-ambient control
allowsall units to operate in the cooling mode down
to0ºF outdoor ambient without additional assis-
tance.Optionally, the control board can be pro-
grammedto lockout the compressors when the
outdoorair temperature is low or when free cooling
is available.
Anti-ShortCycle Protection - To aid compressor
life, an anti-short cycle delay is incorpora ted into the
standardcontrols. Compressor reliability is further
ensuredby programmable minimum run times. For
testing, the anti short cycle delay can be temporarily
overriddenwith the push of a button.
FanDelays - Fan on and fan off delays are fully pro-
grammable.Furthermore, the heating and cooling
fandelay times are independent of one another. All
unitsare programmed with default values based
upontheir configuration of cooling and heat.
SafetyMonitoring - The co ntrol board monitors the
high and low-pressure switches, the freezes tats,t he
gasvalve, if applicable, and the temperature limit
switchon gas and electric heat units. The unit con-
trolboard will alarm on ignition failures, compressor
lockoutsand repeated limit switch trips.
NuisanceTrip Protection and Strikes - Toprevent
nuisance trouble calls, the control board uses a
“threetimes, you’re out” philosophy. The high and
low-pressureswitches and the freezestats must trip
threetimes within two hours before the unit control
boardwill lock out the associated compressor.
OnBoard Diagnostics - Each alarm wil l energize a
troublelight on the thermostat, if so equipped, and
flashan alarm code on the control board LED. Each
highand low-pressure switch alarm as well as each
freezestatalarm has its own flash code. The control
boardsaves the five most recent alarms in memory,
andthese alarms can be reviewed at any time.
Alarmsand programmed values are retained
throughthe loss of power.
Allunits have long lasting powder paint cabinets with 750
hoursalt spray test approval under ASTM-B117 procedures.
Allmodels are CSA approved.
•Warranty-Allmodels includea one-year limited parts
warrantyon the complete unit. Compressors and electric
heaterelements carry a five-year warranty. Gas heat
exchangerscarry a 10-year parts warranty.
GasHeat Operation - All gas h eat units are built with
twoheating sections for two equal stages of capacity
control. Each section includes a durable heat exchanger
withaluminized steel or optional stainless steel tubes, a
redundantgas valve, spark ignition, power venting, an
ignitionmodule for 100% shut-off and all of the safety
controlsrequired to meet the latest ANSI standards.
Thegas supply piping can be routed into the heating
compartmentthrough a hole in the base pan of the unit
orthrough a knockout in the piping panel on the front of
theunit.
