5 • Troubleshooting and maintenance

 

 

To save the displayed data as a text file, use your browser’s Save function (see figure 71). Using Netscape or Internet Explorer, for example.

Click the File menu.

Click Save As. A dialog box will appear. Use the dialog to save the data displayed on your browser (your Matrix Switch configuration parameters) to a text file.

Select the folder in which you want to store the file,

Type a file name.

Click Save.

Removing the defective Model 6511RC

1.Remove the replacement Model 6511RC from its shipping container and place it near the chassis in which the malfunctioning Model 6511RC is located.

Note The Model 6511RC Matrix Switch modules are hot-swap-able, so it is not necessary to deactivate the rack chassis before replacing a module.

2.Disconnect and label the following cables from the malfunctioning Model 6511RC:

The STM-1 WAN cable

The RS-232 CONFIG cable (if installed)

The 10/100 Ethernet cable (if installed)

The two 10/100/1000 Ethernet cables (if installed)
