1SPEAKER key
Press this key to listen to the line and fax tones through the speaker when faxing a document (page 47).
Note: This is not a speakerphone. You must pick up the handset to talk with the other party.
2RESOLUTION / RECEPTION MODE key
When a document is in the feeder, press this key to adjust the resolution for faxing or copying (page 45). At any other time, press this key to select the reception mode (an arrow in the display will point to the currently selected reception mode; page 21).
3FLASH key
This key is used for Call Waiting and other special services that require subscription from your phone company. Your phone company will provide you with details on how to use the key.
4REC/MEMO key
Press this key to record an outgoing message, phone conversation, or memo (pages 24 and 28).

PLAY/HOLD key
Press this key to play recorded messages (page 27). At any other time, press this key to put the other party on hold during a phone conversation (page 62).
Display
This displays messages and prompts to help you operate the machine.
