Unpacking the Matrix X16-C Chassis

Unpacking the Matrix X16-C Chassis

Note: Unpack the Matrix X16-C chassis components only as needed. Leave the components in their respective shipping cartons until you are ready to install that component. Save all shipping materials in the event you must repack the chassis.

The Matrix X16‐C chassis is packed and shipped on a skid. Before unpacking the chassis, examine the outside packaging for obvious damage. To unpack the Matrix X16‐C chassis, refer to the following figures which illustrate disassembly and include numbers that correspond to the steps below. Proceed as follows:

1.With a box cutter, cut the two shipping straps fastening the corrugated box to the skid, as shown in Figure 3‐1.

2.Lift and remove the shipping box from the skid.

3.Remove and save the rack support brackets, accessory package, documents, cable, and other equipment from the top of the styrofoam cap, as shown in Figure 3‐2 on page 3‐3. Accessories and optional equipment include:

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) wrist strap

Installation documentation

Screw assemblies

Rack support brackets

RJ45 management cable

4.Lift and remove the styrofoam cap from the top of the chassis. Save for reshipping, if necessary.
