2.2.2Assign your TCP/IP configuration by DHCP

After the TCP/IP protocol is installed, each computer must be assigned specific information to be able to contact other devices on the network. The FSG-3 is pre- configured to give this information automatically to all computers attached to its LAN ports. The computers can obtain this information from the internal DHCP server of the FSG-3. To use DHCP with the recommended default addresses, follow these steps:

1.Start the FSG-3 and wait for it to boot. The EL ring will be on when booting is finished. This can take up to 30 seconds. Connect all computers to the LAN ports of the FSG-3.

2.On each attached computer, open the Network control panel (refer to the previous section) and select the Configuration tab.

3.From the network components list, select TCP/IP->(your Ethernet adapter) and click Properties.

4.In the IP Address tab, select "Obtain an IP address automatically".

5.Select the Gateway tab.
