6.5.2 WAN Connection
Here you can setup your connection to the internet or different network.
Options | Description |
Run DHCP client | Run the DHCP client. If the WAN port is connected to a |
| DHCP server (for instance to another router) you will |
| need to setup the WAN connection with this option. |
Run DSL client | If the WAN port is connected to a DSL or cable modem |
| directly, you often need to specify data given to you by |
| your provider. This option lets you run PPPoE and other |
| types of DSL and cable connections. |
Login | This is the username you got from your ISP. |
Password | This is the password you got from your ISP. |
Retype password | This is the password you got from your ISP. |
Dial on demand | A DSL connection will only be established if requested |
| by a PC in the network. |
Idle time (in seconds). Use this option if you have a

Use fixed IP address | This allows you to manually enter you network informa- |
| tion IP address. This is your fixed IP address, please ask |
| your ISP or network manager for the information. |
Subnet mask | This is your subnet mask, please ask your ISP or network |

Default gateway | This is your fixed default gateway address, please ask |
