Voice S-Register Summary

Voice mode S-Register changes are outlined below.

S-Register

Description

S0

Automatic answer is disallowed in Voice mode.

S7

Wait for Carrier After Dial. Default is 60 seconds. In Voice mode, S7 contains the maximum

 

amount of time that the modem will wait during Call Origination, all the time detecting for ring

 

backs, before assuming that the remote station will not go off hook.

S10

Automatic disconnect is disallowed in Voice mode.

Voice Commands

The +V Voice enhancements are implemented with AT+V (for Voice) commands, as well as changes to several existing commands.

In general, the modem does not accept Data mode (+FCLASS=0) commands or Fax mode (+FCLASS=1, 2, 2.0) commands when in Voice mode (+FCLASS=8).

Reset modem.

&D1 is disallowed in Voice mode.

Places the modem in Voice mode.
