Chapter 9 External Service Management

The External Service Page

The URL field contains the URL that will be passed to devices that allows them to access the service.

Note Be aware that your IP phones must be capable of accessing the URL exactly as typed. For instance: If your IP phones cannot use DNS to resolve a URL you must enter an IP address instead of a host name in the URL.

In addition to ensuring that the URL is accessible by your IP phones, you must also ensure that the URL will return information that the IP phone can display. Be sure to verify that the URL does display information correctly on the phone.
