Chapter 7 Distribution List Management

The Distribution List User Permissions Page

This page is available from the Edit User Permissions link on the Manage Distribution Lists page if ownership of the list has been shared, as described in “Sharing distribution lists,” page 29.

This page contains two columns showing on the left side Broadcast Server users that can send alerts to the list and, on the right, those that cannot.

Description

The user record has been deactivated. The user will not be allowed to log in to Broadcast Server.

Granting users permission to send to the list

Check the boxes in the right-side column next to the items you want to add and click the Add Selected button. To select all users, click the box in the column heading (to the left of “Name”).

Users who have been granted rights to send to the lists can select the list as a recipient when creating or modifying alerts. These users not will however be allowed to modify the list’s details – although they can view these details.

Revoking users’ permission to send to the list

Check the boxes in the left-side column next to the items you want to remove and click the Remove Selected button. Once this action is perform, those users who were removed will no longer be able to send alerts to recipients on the distribution list.
