Chapter 8—Maintaining the nTier700

Update the Firmware

After you obtain the updated firmware, use the following steps to perform the update.

1.Select Maintenance > Package Update to display the Package Update page. The nTier700 automatically scans the following locations for firmware files:

ƒDrives. A USB drive connected to one of the USB ports on the back of the nTier700. Packages are only listed under this option if a USB drive is connected to the nTier700.

ƒRemote. The specified remote package server. The default package server is the downloads page on the Spectra Logic web site.

ƒArchived Packages. The C:\Program Files (x86)\ SpectraLogic\nTier\Packages folder on the system boot drive. After the nTier700 firmware is updated using a new package, the package is moved to this folder and listed under Archived Packages.
