If your fax machine interrupts when messages are being left

If your PaperJet 50 sometimes switches to fax while callers are trying to leave a message, it may help to increase the silence detection time or to switch it off.

To change the silence detection time

Function

FPress until the display shows INSTALLATION.

Display shows TEL.LINE SET UP.

Press until the display shows SILENCE LAPSE: 6.

Press to set the lapse time to 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 seconds or NO (off).

Press to confirm the option displayed.

Press to return to standby.
