Apple Talk

Double-clicking the “Apple Talk” icon in the Setup screen generates the “Apple Talk” window. AppleTalk is a data communication protocol used by Macintosh computers. The Print Server uses this protocol to join the AppleTalk network and share printers with Macintosh computers.

Zone Name

Enter the Print Server’s AppleTalk zone name in the “Zone Name” text box. The zone name entered must be active before other computers in the same zone can share printers using the Print Server. Only computers in the same zone as the Print Server can share printers. Enter “*” in the Zone Name text box allows all AppleTalk users in all zones to share printers through the Print Server.

Printer Type

Enter the printer type of each printer connected to the Print Server. See the printer’s documentation for information concerning printer type.

Save/Cancel

After making changes in the AppleTalk window, click Save to save them. Click Cancel to discard any changes made.
