Wireless Function

Here, the wireless capabilities of the Print Server can be enabled or disabled manually (by clicking in the appropriate circle). Since the Print Server cannot operate both wirelessly and through an Ethernet network simultaneously, when the Print Server is first powered up, it automatically detects whether it is con- nected to an Ethernet network. If so, it will run in wired mode, with the wire- less mode disabled. If no Ethernet network is detected, the Print Server enables wireless mode and disables wired mode. Activating “Auto” (the default selection) allows the Print Server to automatically enable or disable wireless mode.

Save/Cancel

After making changes in the System window, click Save to save them. Click Cancel to discard any changes made.

Wireless

Double-clicking the “Wireless” icon in the Setup screen generates the first “Wireless” window.

To set up the Print Server for wireless operation:

1.In the first “Wireless” window, activate either “Infrastructure Mode” or “AdHoc Mode.” Infrastructure Mode should be used if connecting to an already existing wireless network. Activate Ad Hoc Mode to create a peer-to- peer wireless network. After selecting one of the options, click Next.
