Troubleshooting

No sound of CD-DA (audio CD) disc is audible.

If no sound is audible from the speakers, etc., connected to your computer, make

sure that your audio cable is connected correctly between the sound card and your computer. (P. 16, 17, 27, 44, 45)

For users with Windows Me, if no sound is audible from your headphones connected to the headphone jack on the front panel of the CRW2200 drive, or from speakers connected to the ANALOG AUDIO OUT connector on the rear panel of the CRW2200 drive through a sound card, make settings as shown below. (When you are using the Windows Media Player 7.0 with Windows Me, above symptom is known to exist because the initial setting default to ON for the “Digital playback.”)

Note

The following procedures are described for a SCSI connection. For the connection of the E-IDE (ATAPI) models, please give the CRW2200E name to the CRW2200S.

1The “Properties” setting of the CRW2200S.

Open the “YAMAHA CRW2200S Properties” window and click on the “Properties” tab.

Uncheck the “Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device.” check box.

2The setting of the Windows Media Player.

Start “Windows Media Player.”

Click “Tools” on the Menu and click on “Options” to open the “Options” window, then click on the “CD Audio” tab.

Uncheck the “Digital playback” check box.
