Dialling and transmission problems

The power is on, but no | • | Make sure that the receiving machine has paper. |
transmission takes place. |

| • | Make sure that the telephone line cord is plugged |
|
| into the TEL. LINE socket, and not the TEL. SET |
|
| socket. |
| • | If the receiving machine is in manual mode with no |
|
| attendant, reception will not be possible. |
| • | Check the display for error messages. |
| • | Pick up the handset and check for a dial tone. |
|

|
Nothing is printed at the | • | Make sure that the document for transmission is |
receiving end. |
| placed face down in the feeder. |

|
A distorted image is | • | Noise on the telephone line may cause distortion. |
received at the other end. |
| Try sending the document again. |
| • | Make a copy of the document on your fax machine. |
