TV OPERATION AND SETTINGS

SLEEP TIMER / PICTURE CONTROL

You can set Sleep Timer and picture	TV
adjustment with [PICTURE / SLEEP].

•The menu changes as described below every time you press [PICTURE / SLEEP].

SLEEP TIMER SETTING

The Sleep Timer function is used to turn off the unit without pressing [STANDBY-ONy] after a desired time.

1 Press [PICTURE / SLEEP] to	SLEEP 0 MINUTE
display the Sleep Timer menu.	C C C C C C C C C C C C

2Within 10 seconds, set your desired sleep time using [s / B].

•[B]...Increase by 10 min. (Up to 120 min.)

•[s]...Decrease by 10 min.

NOTE:

•To cancel the Sleep Timer, use [CLEAR] or [s / B] to set the time to "0".

3To confirm the remainder time to shutdown, press [PICTURE / SLEEP].

PICTURE CONTROL

The picture controls are preset to factory defaults, but you can change them to your desired setting.

1Press [PICTURE / SLEEP]

BRIGHT

repeatedly until desired control – P P P P P P P C P P P P P P P + is displayed.

2Use [s / B] to adjust to your desired level within 5 seconds.

BRIGHT	to decrease brightness	to increase brightness
CONTRAST	to decrease contrast	to increase contrast
COLOR	to pale	to brilliant
TINT	to purple	to green
SHARPNESS	to soft	to clear

•Even if any power failure occurs, the unit will retain its memory for this feature.

CLOSED CAPTION SYSTEM

You can view specially labeled (cc) TV pro-		TV
grams, movies, news and pre-recorded tapes with
either a dialogue caption or text display.
1 Press [SET-UP].	- TV SETUP -
Use [K / L] to point to	CHANNEL SET UP
	LANGUAGE [ENGLISH]
	V-CHIP SET UP
"CAPTION".	B CAPTION [OFF]
2 Press [ENTER] repeatedly to	- TV SETUP -
select your desired caption	V-CHIP SET UP
	CHANNEL SET UP
mode.	LANGUAGE [ENGLISH]
	B CAPTION [CAPTION1]

•CAPTION mode (1, 2): You can watch dramas, movies and news while captioning the dialogues and the con- tents of news.

•TEXT mode (1, 2): You can watch half screen text information if you want.

*"CAPTION2" is usually used for a second language (if available).

3Press [SET-UP]to exit the menu.

NOTES:

•Even if any power failure, the unit will retain its mem- ory for this feature.

•Some programs are not broadcasted with closed captions. The unit is designed to provide error-free closed captions with high quality antenna, cable and VCR signals. Conversely, poor quality signals are likely to result in caption errors or no captions at all.

•Common signal conditions which may cause caption errors are listed below:

-Weak snowy reception on TV screen

-Multiplex signal reception displaying picture ghosts or airplane flutter

•If the unit displays a black box on the TV screen, this means that the unit is set to the TEXT mode. To clear screen, select "CAP- TION1", "CAPTION2" or "OFF".

TO CANCEL THE CLOSED CAPTION SYSTEM

1Press [SET-UP]. Use [K / L] to point to "CAPTION".

2Press [ENTER] repeatedly to select "OFF".

3Press [SET-UP]to exit the menu.
