9.3 Setting the satellite position

Proceed by sytematically working through Points 9.3.1 to

9.3.3for each satellite position that is to be set. When pro- gramming the satellite positions, we recommend that you begin with the satellite in the most easterly position. Then add each additional satellite in geographic order, working in a westerly direction, until you have reached the most westerly position.

Your digital receiver is pre-programmed at the factory for the most popular satellite positions. In addition, you can configu- re user-defined satellite positions for any orbital position of your choice (User1 to User14).

9.3.1 Selecting a satellite position

9.3.1.1Selecting a pre-programmed satellite position

>To add a satellite position to the satellite list, use the arrow keys to mark the field Sat new.

>Confirm by pressing OK.

A list will be displayed showing the available satellite positions. (Fig. 9-10)

>Now use the arrow keys up/down to mark a satellite position that you wish to add to the satellite list.

>Press OK to accept the selection.

If the Geo-Positioning(Point 9.2) function is On, the dish antenna will now be rotated automatically to the programmed satellite position. The rotation will be indicated by a blinking display “turn”.

If the Geo-Positioningfunction is Off, you will have to rotate the dish antenna manually (Point 9.3.2.2) to the desired satellite position.

9.3.1.2 Setting a user-defined satellite position

>To add a user satellite position to the satellite list,use the arrow keys to mark the field Sat new.

>Confirm by pressing OK.

A list will be displayed showing the available satellite positions. (Fig. 9-11)

>Now use the arrow keys up/down to mark a user satellite position (User1 to User14).

>Press OK to display the menu used to set a test transponder. In this menu, set the parameters for the test transponder as well as for the LNC used as described in Point 6.4.3.
