5-6 Adding PCI Cards

1.PCI slots:

The P4DLR+ has one 64-bit 133 MHz PCI-X slot for a full-length (standard size) PCI card. The 64-bit 133 MHz PCI-X slot should have a riser card installed, which can accept one standard sized PCI card (see Figure 5-6).

2.PCI card installation:

Before installing a PCI add-on card, see step 1, above. Begin by swing- ing the release tab on the I/O backpanel shield out to the left for the PCI slot. Insert the PCI card into the slot on the riser card, pushing down with your thumbs evenly on both sides of the card. Finish by pushing the release tab back to its original (locked) position. Follow this proce- dure whenever adding or removing a card from the slot.
