A password problem

Keyboard problems
Problem: A number appears when you type a letter.
Solution: The numeric lock function is on. To disable it, press Fn + Delete.
Problem: All or some keys on the external numeric keypad do not work.
Solution: Make sure that the external numeric keypad is correctly connected to the computer.
Standby or hibernation problems
Problem: The computer enters standby mode unexpectedly.
Solution: If the processor overheats, the computer automatically enters standby mode to allow the computer to cool and to protect the processor and other internal components. Check the settings for standby mode.
Problem: The computer enters standby mode (the standby indicator turns on) immediately after

vThe battery is charged.
vThe operating temperature is within the acceptable range. Refer to “Specifications” on page 44.
If the battery is charged and the temperature is within range, have the computer serviced.
