Set the display contrast

You may be prompted to adjust (page 74) the display contrast when switching on your phone for the first time.

Emergency number (SOS)

By pressing the left soft key §SOS§, you can make an emergency call on any network without a SIM card and without entering a PIN. This must only be used in real emergencies!

PIN problems

If the PIN is entered incorrectly three times, the SIM card is barred (page 92).

Activate, deactivate PIN control or change PIN (page 76).

SIM problems

If "Please insert your SIM card" is dis- played, check for faults (page 90).

Setting: Phonebook or Addressbook

You can choose whether you want to use the Phonebook on the SIM card or the inter- nal Adressbook as standard.

You can copy the SIM card Phonebook to the Addressbook on the phone. Please do not interrupt this procedure. Do not accept incoming calls at this time. Follow the in- structions on the display.

To copy the data on the SIM card later, use the Copy all to9function in the Phonebook menu (page 21).
