There is a problem with the MD.

There is no more space on the MD or there are over 254 tracks.

This is not a malfunction. You cannot record a CD in program play mode using x4 speed-recording.

Change the MD.

Use another recordable MD or erase some tracks.

Unprotect the MD or use another. (See page 30.)

Stop playback, and eject the MD and re- insert it.

MD is not loaded correctly.

You are trying to copy a non-audio disc like a CD-ROM, Video CD, or DVD.

You are trying to edit or record on a playback-only MD.

This is not a malfunction. (See “FORM GR” on page 43.)

An internal timer works to protect copyrights. Wait for 74 minutes or more, then start recording. (See “HCMS” on page 63.)

Eject the MD and re-insert it.

Put an MD.

Stop recording.

Use a recordable MD.
