When connecting the sub-room front speakers to the SUB ROOM PREOUT jacks through another amplifier (see page 17), determine how to adjust the volume level in the sub-room.

Select one of the following:

VARIABLE

: Select this when you want to adjust the sub-

 

room volume level using the MASTER

 

VOLUME control on this unit (or VOLUME +/

 

– on this remote control).

 

 

FIXED

: Select this when you want to adjust the sub-

 

room volume level using the amplifier

 

connected to the SUB ROOM PREOUT jacks.

 

• The MASTER VOLUME control on this unit

 

(or VOLUME +/– on this remote control)

 

cannot adjust the sub-room volume level.

 

 

7Setting the speakers 2

When connecting the speakers to the FRONT SPEAKERS 2/ SUB ROOM, determine the speaker usage—whether you use these speakers as the second front speakers in the main room or as the front speakers in the sub-room.

MAIN

: Select this when you use these speakers as the

 

second front speakers in the main room.

 

 

SUB

: Select this when you use these speakers as the front

 

speakers in the sub-room.

This unit memorizes many

7Storing the volume level for each source

Select one of the following:

ON

: Select this to store the volume level setting

 

separately for each source. (The ONE TOUCH

 

OPERATION indicator lights up on the main unit’s

 

display.)

This receiver memorizes the volume level—

when you turn off the power,

when you change the source,

when you change the analog/digital input mode (see page 23), and

when you turn on One Touch Operation.

OFF

: Select this not to store the volume level setting.

To recall the volume level

With the ONE TOUCH OPERATION indicator lit, the volume level for the currently selected source is recalled when the source is selected.

To cancel the One Touch Operation

Set One Touch Operation to “OFF” so that the ONE TOUCH OPERATION indicator goes off.

When you have connected an MD recorder or CD player equipped with TEXT COMPU LINK remote control system (see page 56), you can show the text information, such as disc title or track title, on the display of this receiver.

7Turning on or off the text information display

Select one of the following:

NORMAL : Source name and Surround/DSP mode appear during play.

TEXT

: Text information appears during play.

Note:

Though you have selected “TEXT,” the source name and Surround/ DSP mode will appear while playing a disc that has no text information.
