The matrix—When the manual mode is se- lected, the matrix will show a track that repre- sents 1/4 mile. As you exercise, the indicators

around the track will light in succession until the entire track is lit. The track will then darken and the indicators will again begin to light in succes- sion.

The Incline display— This display will show the incline level of the tread- mill.

The Time display—If no goals were set, this display will show the elapsed time. If a goal was set, the display will show the time remain-

ing in your workout. Note: When a program is se- lected (except for the first heart rate program), the display will show the time remaining in the pro- gram.

The Distance display—If no goals were set, this display will show the distance that you have walked or run. If a goal was

set, the display will show the distance still to be walked or run during your workout. Note: When a preset program or a custom program is selected, the display will show the distance still to be walked or run during the program.

The Calories display— If no goals were set, this display will show the ap- proximate number of calories you have burned. If a goal was

set, the display will show the number of calories still to be burned during your workout. Note: When a preset program or a custom program is selected, the display will show the number of calories still to be burned during the program.

The Pulse display—The display will show your heart rate when you use the handgrip pulse sensor (see step 7 on page 15) or the optional chest pulse sensor.

The Speed display— This display will show the speed of the walking belt.

Note: The console can display speed and dis- tance in either miles or kilometers. To determine which unit of measure- ment is selected, hold

Press the Speed increase button to change the unit of measurement. When the de- sired unit of measurement is selected, remove the key and then reinsert it.

To reset the displays, press either of the Stop but- tons, remove the key, and then reinsert the key.
