Changing the Root Password

The Passwords page allows the User to change the passwords needed to login as a User. Changes to all settings require a login. (Note: However, these changes are only protected by password after the password has been set. Users can only be added or removed using Telnet commands.)

Step Procedure

1Select the Administration link.

2Select the Passwords link to get to the Password web page.

3Enter the current password in the Root Password Old textbox or leave it blank if no password has been previously set.

4Enter the new password in the Root Password New textbox or leave it blank if you want to remove the old password.

5Re-enter the new password in the Root Password Confirm textbox or leave it blank if you want to remove the old password.

6Select the Submit button.

7Log in as a root User (using the password) if you are so prompted. (Note: Any change of setting will only be accepted after you have successfully logged in.)
