13. Appendix C: Installing the Open

Applications Interface (OAI) Telephony

Gateway

The OAI Telephony Gateway (MOG 500) allows the Link 150 M3 MCU to interface with an application server as shown in the diagram belo w. This enables third-party applications to communicate directly with the Link 150 M3 MCU, allowing users to retrieve and respond to information using Wireless Telephones. A single OAI Telephony Gateway can be connected to a Link 150 Master Control Unit (MCU) using an IPC cable (8-conductor cable with RJ-45 connectors)..

13.1 Before Installing the OAI Telephony Gateway

If this is a new system installation, secure the OAI Telephony Gateway to the wall, power up and test the Telephony Gateway when the MCUs are tested. Connect the OAI Telephony Gateway to the MCU after the Base Stations are installed.

If you are adding the OAI Telephony Gateway to an existing system, the system will need to be shut down and re-set to install the OAI Telephony Gateway. Notify users that the system will be out of service during the installation.
