Hold Disconnect

Time

Code: #203

Description: When a caller on hold hangs up, the local telephone company may send a special signal to the PARTNER Plus system to free the line. There are two possible signals: a long signal (450 milliseconds) used by most tele- phone companies, or a short signal (50 milliseconds) used by a few telephone companies. The length of the signal is called the hold disconnect time. If you put a line on hold and the call doesn’t “go away” within a minute or two after the caller hangs up, use this procedure to change the hold disconnect time.

If the telephone company sends no signal, changing the hold disconnect time has no effect. In this situation, disconnect held calls manually by taking the call off hold and hanging it up.
